In a bold act of resistance, activists from Palestine Action have taken direct action against Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, protesting his plans for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza. The group spray-painted the clubhouse and gates and dug up the greens, making it clear that “Gaza is not for sale.”
Images shared by the activists showed red paint splashed across buildings, with powerful messages condemning Trump’s proposal to forcibly remove Palestinians and take over the Gaza Strip. A lamp post was also damaged, reinforcing the message that Palestinian land and identity cannot be erased.
The protest comes in response to Trump’s widely condemned statements, in which he proposed expelling all Palestinians from Gaza and taking ownership of the land. Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump declared, “The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too.” Netanyahu, in turn, supported the idea, calling it “worth paying attention to.”
Trump’s colonial ambitions were met with outrage worldwide, as he even shared an AI-generated video depicting a whitewashed, luxury development in Gaza—completely erasing Palestinian history, culture, and the suffering of its people.
Palestine Action’s powerful demonstration at Turnberry—a property owned by Trump’s organization—serves as a reminder that Palestine is not for sale, nor will its people be forcibly removed without resistance. While Trump and his allies dream of erasing Palestinians from their land, activists around the world are making it clear that this plan will never be accepted.
Authorities in Scotland have launched an investigation, labeling the act as “criminal,” but for many, this was a necessary stand against genocide and forced displacement. The fight for Palestinian liberation continues, and this protest sends a loud and clear message: the world will not stay silent.
