Court sends settlement security officer accused of shooting Palestinian woman to house arrest
The court cited conflicting accounts and a lack of footage. The prosecution had asked for him to stay in custody.
A Jerusalem court released settlement security coordinator Pinhas Shem Tov Ran to house arrest in the Golan Heights; he is accused of seriously wounding an 18-year-old Palestinian woman at an unauthorised roadblock.
The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ruled on 26 October, The Times of Israel reported.
The woman's father told Kan that Ran fired 10 rounds. She was seriously wounded.
The incident took place at a roadblock that was not authorised, near the Gidonim Ridge, according to the report.
