France rebuffs Ben-Gvir after AI videos mocking Gazans
France barred Ben-Gvir in May over his treatment of activists on a Gaza-bound flotilla. Israel's election rules require AI campaign content to be labelled.
Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir shared AI-generated campaign videos mocking Gazans, including one sending a Palestinian to Paris; France's foreign ministry replied that even magic could not lift his entry ban.
One video showed a ruined Gaza in 2030 with a donkey and the message that only a donkey would stay in Gaza, France 24's Truth or Fake team reported.
In another, an elderly Palestinian rubs a magic lamp, summons Ben-Gvir and is sent to Paris.
France's 'French Response' account on X answered with a jibe about his ban, and Ben-Gvir replied with an AI video of himself speaking French.
Deutsche Welle found Likud used AI in about a quarter of the campaign content it analysed.
